Yeah, after months of deliberation, we finally decided that we just can't beat Fletcher's original idea of nvUltra. So, for the time being, this is settled. Thanks for the input Bernardo!

Window->Focus (or ⌘⇧F) toggles it reliably for me, both ways. Is that what you're using?

In the meantime, you can always use Marked 2. nvUltra can send directly to Marked, and I'll be making all of the default preview styles from nvUltra avaiable in the Custom Styles repository.

I assume you mean because it's a relative URL, which is why WikiLinks aren't a regular part of Markdown. The link will only work as long as the file is in the same directory as the other notes...
