I am also getting the beachball just typing into any document. I also got the beach ball with I checked the document's spelling. Version 1.0.0 (52) 10.14.6

That is correct it is on an external volume and the permissions are set to Read and Write for the user account and Read and Write for staff. Everyone is set to Read Only. I've tried it with all 3 s...
