New here, and also got jarred by this. FWIW, I am mostly happy with the way nvAlt handles this. Any reason nvU doesn't do the same?

That works, thank you! Actually I just set the keyboard shortcut in nvU, and the KM trigger takes care of the hide if nvU is in front.

Here's a screenshot. BTW, once I do this the window stays on screen and the dock icon stays hidden regardless of what I do, until I click the menubar icon.
