Same thing happens to me. Very frustrating. Not sure how to diagnose it, or reliably repeat it.

Been using ⇧+␣ in nvALT for years. It's going to be really hard to find a new shortcut.

That took care of it. Just to be clear, I didn't set the Text Alignment preference to justified. Is that the default on install? Thanks for the response :)
