Jumping posts after edit
CompletedI just updated to the latest beta - Version 1.0.0 (2022.05.13.15.34).
I have been using BBEdit to do external edits of files. When I hit save on BBEdit and come back to nvUltra, nvUltra has jumped one or two (normally two) notes down in my list. This did not happen before. It stayed on the file that I had edited.
BTW, the edits have happened as expected. It is the file jumping which is new...and annoying.
update...I edited a file in nvUltra and as I typed a letter I was taken to a file a couple down the list.

I also have this issue (and can confirm I also store my notes in Dropbox), I previously reported it here.

+1 on this, been happening for some months. I thougth it was my own fault, nudging the touch plate or something. After reading this thread, i paused Dropbox syncing, and could not replicate. After turning on syncing again, the problem reappeared.

This is becoming a little bit of a game for me. Every time I need to edit a note now, I think to myself: "Now, what combination of terms can I type into the search bar that will find the note I need and only that note?" It's a little like playing Codenames.

I just do a search that shows the right note (and maybe some others), select the right note, copy the full name, and paste back into the search bar so it's the only one showing. 😆

Oh, wow. Not only is that fiendishly simple, but it's trivial to implement in a keyboard macro — ⌘L, ⌘C, ⌘V, and you're done. I've assigned it to ⌘⇧L in BetterTouchTool. (It clobbers the clipboard, and I couldn't find a way to save and restore the current clipboard in BTT, whose UI is clumsy and not especially helpful, but since I also use a clipboard manager, the damage is limited.)
Thank you sir for the genius workaround! Wish I'd thought of it myself.

The newest release *should* fix this issue.
I could *usually* but not *always* replicate this by editing files in a dropbox folder. After attempting to fix it, I can't replicate it at all. I think I understand the cause of the problem, but since I couldn't consistently replicated it, it is difficult to know for sure, which makes it hard to know that the problem is fixed.
I appreciate feedback on this from those who experienced it previously using the 2022-08-04 build.
Thanks!!

I had about an hour trying it out this morning, and while the sample size is a little small, it didn't misbehave even once. I'm cautiously optimistic that you squashed it. I'll have more time tomorrow.
Thank you for prioritizing this and putting in the effort to try to pin it down — it sounds like it's been an absolute bear!

It took me longer than I would have liked (combination of limited time for software due to other life issues and struggling to find the best approach...)
Glad it at least *seems* to be working better!!!

Also been trying to provoke the new release over the weekend, but haven't been able to reproduce. I had the bug acting up pretty regularly, so I think it has been fixed. Thanks!

After light use (v2022.08.04.23.12) over last few days I can report 'so far so good' as well. Thanks Fletcher.

A couple days in now and I haven’t seen the jumping behaviour once. (I sync with Dropbox. ) Thank you for tracking this down and (I hope!) sorting this out!!

I'll mark this as completed, since it seems to be fixed.
