Strange File List - only 7-8 files show in list
CompletedI am installing nvUltra on a second computer, files are DropBox synced (I dont think that is relevant). On the initial install no issues. On this one, only 7-8 files show in the file list, even with no search term. I can pick a file and then toggle to the "related files" behavior and the whole list shows up. So it "knows" the files are there but is not displaying them. I have done minor tweaks to Themes but that does not seem to affect this aspect.
Any ideas on what could cause the list truncation?

I am seeing the same thing, only 8 files in my list. The folder is on iCloud Drive and all 400 files downloaded to the computer. I have not tweaked the theme and this is on the same computer I have been using the whole beta. It just stated happening, possibly after the latest update. Up until now, all files have been displayed in the sidebar. I tried searching in the search bar, but it will only show the results from the 8 files it is displaying.

I am having the same issue. If I search for a file that's not on the list, NV will find it, so it can see all the files. But I can't find a way to see all of them at once.

Ah, never mind, I see it has been answered here: https://multimarkdown.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360049410373-Missing-files
Go to Preferences -> General -> Testing -> Feature Set and set it to Paid App instead of Free App. Then restart nvUltra.

Wow, very frustrating. I was digging through files, trying to figure out what was wrong. Glad to know the answer now. There should be some sort of pop up that tells you this limitation.

When I updated to this version, I believe it was highlighted in the changelog notes or somewhere similar — specifically asking us to test out the Free App functionality. It still took me a moment to realize what was going on when most of my files appeared to vanish!
Fletcher/Brett, maybe it would make sense to include some kind of visual cue that the app is in Free mode? For example, there could be a narrow black/theme-colored banner at the top of the file list that just says "Free Mode," or you could use the space below the limited file list to share a notice (e.g., "Not all files are shown in the Free App." or something similar).

It's a beta. Gotta read the release notes.
;)
Yes -- there will be an indicator that the limit on number of files has been exceeded, but we will have to be careful about wording since Apple gets touchy about how you indicate that you can get more features by paying for an app that has a free version....
