If you send me the file you're having trouble with, I can take a look and see what is happening.

I have the same problem ! I have the feeling that the problems disappears when I uncheck « update the file when edited in a other program »

Theo -- I leave that button checked all the time.  Can you send more details about your workflow and maybe send an actual file that causes problems for you?

I tried to capture the behavior : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ubl8PG_ytJc&feature=youtu.be

I use TextExpander... I don't see what could go wrong with my workflow. Mac OS 10.15.1.

What folder is opened in nvUltra?

What version of nvUltra are you using?

Is that document open in any other application while you are using it?

    Thanks!!

Bernardo -- when the app is slow, what language are you writing in?

Maybe I use a too fancy CSS, with two different fonts ?

Here are my CSS and one of my files :

Fletcher -- Usually English, Portuguese or Ancient Greek. I had the crazy cursor problem happen again after the last fix, but I have not yet found the cause of it. I will try to take a look again to see if I can find the cause of any, or both, of these.

    Re: Cursor issue:

    1. Make sure you update to the latest build (42)

    2. See https://multimarkdown.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360037726714-Problems-with-cursor-placement

Does the slowdown only happen with Portuguese by chance?

As far as I could tell, the language was not relevant. But in any case, the latest build apparently has fixed both issues.

The cursor problem was happening on my MacBook, but I don't have access to it right now (it was having a cooler issues so I had to leave it to be repaired).

Years and years ago, there was an issue with writing in French due to the frequent use of the backtick/apostrophe.  Since these are used for code spans in Markdown, it caused a lot of false negatives, which the parser still had to evaluate, only to find out that they did not indicate code spans.  This really slowed things down with a lot of backtracking and parsing the same area over and over again.  That was fixed (back in the MMD v 3/4 days).

MMD 6 uses an entirely different parsing approach that doesn't do backtracking like that, and I'm not aware of issues in French due to this, but will need to dig in further.  Seeing that these two instances may occur in non-English documents made me think of that.

Okay, I hope you'll be able the fix the issue. The app you're building perfectly suits my needs !

I just need help narrowing down the circumstances that cause it, since it works pretty flawlessly for me!

Hi, I tried the last issue and the app is still lagging with French. Did you find out the circumstances of this bug ?
