Gotcha, thanks. I didn't even know you could toggle like that. From now on, I'll just do a bulleted list and convert to numbered when I'm importing.

Further details. It turns out that despite the error, the file is not capitalized either. Which suggests that changing filename capitalization after the fact is not currently possible.
