Beta expired

Hello.
I had to reboot and the beta (2022.06.20.19.30) has expired. (the workaround is to change the system clock back manually, presumably sometime before 1 August).
I've wanted to say for a while I'm not a fan of time-based expiry; mainly because it has a "fail-unsafe" position - i.e. you get a situation where the developer is busy or ill or unavoidably unavailable etc. and not able to update it in time, and then it breaks, or there's the extra stress of having to create a new version at the end of each month or whenever, even when there's nothing ready to release, and then all the users have to download the "new" version which is exactly the same etc.
I think I'm more in favour of using a remote kill switch for products that really need one, and signalling online that a version is out of date.

@Piaras - Thanks for the timely reminder about The Archive (which offers a 60-day free trial)!! I see The Archive sponsored BrettTerpstra.com in March 2020. I didn’t think much about The Archive then, but now that I can’t access my text files in nvUltra on my Mac, I’m going to give The Archive a try.

Wasn't aware of the The Archive until Piaras mentioned it. I'm really liking the default theme (Night Shift integration is a plus) and the overall "typewriter" feel - I think partly because on a widescreen monitor there's plenty of horizontal space; it's fun using it for journaling, for example.
