All of a sudden, Preview in NVU 05.13.15.14 does not render Markdown keystrokes, which show accurately in MMD Composer of same file

From text formatting, e.g., *u* (for italic), previews exactly as typed, i.e., with asterisks bracketing text intended for formatting.

Same with embedded MMD keystrokes for more complex formatting, e.g., [^This is a footnote]. It displays in the preview exactly as typed in the editing pane. It does appear correctly in MMD Composer, invoked in the File menu...

It was all previewing as expected before this behavior started.

Have checked all settings (in case something was accidentally toggled or reset; I did not intentionally alter anything just prior to this behavior starting. I also deleted and trashed the NVUltra app, and downloaded it again from the latest pinned version and installed it. No effect.

    Can you attach screenshots of your MMD and Preview preferences, as well as a screenshot of what you're seeing with a simple test file?

    I could and would, if this behavior had not ceased, as mysteriously as it arrived. Will send it along if it recurs…
