nvUltra Security Bookmark Error

    I've never seen that.

As we move closer to formal release, we are getting the build set up the way it will need to be for the App Store, which includes stricter sandboxing compliance.

The message you get tells you that the security bookmark for the folder was done differently, and you need to reauthorize nvUltra to access the folder.  Once you do that, it will not need to ask you again (for that same folder.)

Can you send a video (can record with Quicktime player) showing me what exactly you do that causes it to ask you again for the same folder?  You will need to submit as a ticket in order to attach a video.  Or send a link.

    Thank you!

There was an issue with my updating to the most recent release.  I reinstalled from scratch, and now I can replicate what you're seeing (I thought I was running the most recent build but was not.)

I will fix and we will release a new build.

    Thanks for reporting this.

Finally figured it out.  Since I first developed support for this in Composer years ago, it looks like Apple added the requirement for a new entitlement.

This should be fixed for the next release (it works in my tests.)

    Thanks!

(But in the meantime -- if you leave nvUltra running, it maintains access to any opened folder.  The problem only happens after you quit and restart the app.)

Hmmmmm...  The fix seems to *mostly* work for me, but there are still a few folders that aren't remembered across app restarts.  I'll need to keep digging.

But again -- leaving the app running solves the problem (temporarily).

Can confirm I'm still seeing this issue with my iCloud Drive folder.

Running version 1.0.0 (2022.05.13.15.34) on macOS version 12.4 (21F79) on an M1 Mac.

The behavior is that the message comes up, I click 'Okay', then click the 'Open' button in the file selection window. The selection window goes away, nvUltra stays open, but nothing else happens. If I go to 'File > Open' again and open it, it will open the folder. Or, after nothing happens, if I click the nvUltra icon, it will open the folder. If I cancel the open dialog, it pops up the error again. If I choose 'Okay' again and then 'Cancel' again, it will close and nothing will happen. But then clicking the app icon will bring up the error again.

    Here's a screencast of what I described above: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1POmrm80hOriEFGwzwwKUOXfuTxIuxUaM/view?usp=sharing

    Hope that helps!

Yeah -- it seems to be something more "insidious" to the way the OS handles security bookmarks, but I'm still looking for a solution....

I've recently started experiencing the "security bookmark" error. I'm not exactly sure when it started because I only use nvUltra every couple weeks or so. My experience is similar to what jraub described above.
