Bonus points for what may be the most demonstrative example to back up your request I have received.  ;)

I looked into enabling alternate row colors for the table, and realized an issue.  Enabling this function disables custom row backgrounds, and results in using the default color based on whether you are using light mode or dark mode for the window (e.g. white/gray or black/gray).

It looks like to support this would require overriding a lot more NSTableView code.  At the moment, I don't think it's worth it.  But, it is likely (though not guaranteed) that a future version of some of my core code would be rewritten to use View-based tables which would offer more flexibility, and as a side effect, should make it less disruptive to support alternating row colors.

    More to come.

The response was a little above my pay grade, but sounds like a maybe at some point? I’d second this request. The one thing I still like better in nvalt is making more efficient and legible use of the search results. There’s a lot of empty space here if you put rows on the top or bottom (vs left or right). Seeing some of the note text + dates is helpful. And having skinnier, alternating color rows is much easier to read. Thanks again, beta generally looking really nice.
