Preview include tags
Rather than showing the brackets, follow 1Writer's lead to include completable
tasks.

I don't follow you on this one.

Sorry, looks like the images cut off my text.
I mean that the preview in nvultra shows the brackets of uncompleted tasks. It would be great if it showed check boxes instead, like the example from the iOS app 1Writer.

Ahhh... "Tags" has a different meaning here (e.g MMD metadata tags, macOS file tags, or inline text tags (`#foo`).)
As for check boxes/todo lists, neither Markdown nor MultiMarkdown have a syntax that means completed or uncompleted in this context. Obviously the intent of the syntax used is clear to the (human) reader, but that's a different story.... :)
If such a feature is included in MultiMarkdown in the future, it would be supported in nvUltra.
That said, my personal preference is Taskpaper and its format, so I have an expansion configured in nvUltra and MultiMarkdown Composer that inserts `@done(%Y-%m-%d)` for me so I can flag tasks as done along with the date of completion. I also disable MultiMarkdown highlighting for `taskpaper`. It end up doing most of my writing and "checking off" in nvUltra, and I use TaskPaper when I want to be able to filter the lists by topic or completion status.
