extra trailing octothorps in headings when user enters their own

If i make a heading with 

## Foo

and hit return it becomes

## Foo ##

which is fine, BUT if i type

## Foo ##

and hit return it becomes

## Foo ## ##

which is a bug. It should not be altered.

  Can you send a file demonstrating the problem (you can open a support ticket to send an actual file)?
