It's trying to restore a previously open window and something is going wrong.

You could try relaunching nvUltra while holding the shift key down.

Otherwise, I think you'll need to try deleting the preferences.  This should do it:

    `defaults delete com.multimarkdown.nvultra`

Thank you. Relaunching with the shift key down didn't work, but deleting the preferences did. Now I just need to remember what all my old preferences were. ;)

I'm having trouble remembering how I made the space between items in the sidebar narrower. IIRC it had to do with modifying the CSS somewhere, but I can't remember a) where, and b) what variable I'd be changing.

That's currently handled with esoteric preferences: https://nvultra.com/help/advanced-features#hiddenpreferences

Hmmmm...I'm doing something wrong here, but I can't figure out what. When I type:

    'wink$ defaults write com.multimarkdown.nvUltra [keyNVTableFontSize] [11]'

    That returns:

    '2021-03-02 20:44:01.398 defaults[10637:1386722] Could not parse: [11].  Try single-quoting it.'

When I try single-quoting it, it returns the same thing. I've tried other variants too, all with the same responses. I'm guessing I have the syntax wrong somehow. Can I get a sample of a correctly formatted change would look like?

Also, according to the esoteric preferences page, the default spacing between rows is 0.0. If I want the row spacing to be closer together, should I use a negative number?

The square brackets indicate what should be replaced, and should not be included in the command. You just want `defaults write com.multimarkdown.nvUltra keyNVTableFontSize 11`.

I would consider revising the documentation to make that more clear, but it's generally standard notation for people who are comfortable in the terminal. The other way to present it would be `defaults write com.multimarkdown.nvUltra KEY VALUE`. Would that have been more clear?

As far as spacing, no, you can't use a negative number. That key is for adding additional spacing. You probably actually want to modify `NVTableRowSize`.

    Thank you!! All better now!

I feel confident that at some point I knew that the brackets were not necessary, but my brain isn't working so great right now and I blanked. So I wouldn't change the documentation based on my mess-up, especially if the current style is the standard.
