Angle bracket links only clickable after newline

Hello,
when I type links like <https://www.reddit.com/> they become clickable when the closing angle bracket is added, but clicking on them only highlights the search box instead of navigating.
When I press enter the clickable link becomes functional and opens in the browser as expected.

This happens with Beta 70 and I'm running Catalina 10.15.7.
To reproduce it every time, I1. paste `<https://www.reddit.com/`
2. type the letter `>`
3. observe that nvUltra formats the link (in a darker color)
4. click on it
5. observe that nvUltra highlights the current note's text in the search box and sets the focus there
What I expect to happen:

If you need a debug log, let me know, but it seems to occur every time so I assume it's a general problem.

I can't replicate -- it works fine for me.
Do you have clickable links enabled in the preferences?

Yes, clickable links and "smart links", if I turn off "smart links" the problem disappears.
It seems what's broken is the "smart links" support, because when I enter links without markdown link syntax it shows them as clickable but the faulty behavior that only focuses the search box occurs for me.
To reproduce it (with smart links):
1. Paste `https://www.reddit.com/` on a new line
2. Press Enter
3. Click on link
4. observe that nvUltra highlights the current note's text in the search box and sets the focus there
For me personally it's fine to turn off smart links because I only write links in markdown syntax.

Ah. It's the macOS Smart Links, not MultiMarkdown links. I never use those.
This should be fixed for next version.

I'm not sure if this is related, but I have "Smart Links" and "Make URLs clickable" on but nvUltra doesn't convert either emails or URLs to clickable links. Any ideas?
