File List show when Search bar is in focus and hide when it is not (or consider a File List pop-over like VS Code)
I have grown to really like using the Search/Create bar but I only want to see the File List when I am using the Search/Create bar or when I want to see Connected Files (which is far less often). When I am not searching/creating/connecting I only want to see the text file and the preview.
I tried using ⌘ Command +⇧ Shift + F to toggle the File List but needed to do it so many times that it was getting in the way of my flow.
Today I'm going to try and create a custom shortcut that replaces ⌘ Command + L with a shortcut that strings together ⌘ +⇧ + F and ⌘ + L when I want to Search/Create and then see if the same shortcut will ⌘ +⇧ + F when I am done with the bar.
I don't really know how to do this kind of shortcut but it would save me time and concentration. Otherwise, I thought of just leaving the File List hidden and blindly arrowing through the results.
Another idea would be to have a pop-over like VS Code where ⌘ + P shows a file list pop-over. But Connections probably needs a panel to be effective so the auto show/hide option sounded better.

You could use an app like Keyboard Maestro to string together the two. But after you're done with the file list you'd still have to dismiss it manually.
