Strange behaviour when clicking a link in the preview pane

I had the following issue in both, build 48 and 49.

Sometimes, when I click a link to an external resource in the preview pane, instead of opening the link in the web browser (Safari for me) the preview pane goes blank. When I open a new note, it will show up I the preview pane, however all formatting defined by the Preview CSS is lost.

Clicking the same link in the Editor Pane works completely as expected though, Safari will come up and the page will open.

I am not entirely sure how to reproduce this behaviour, but it seems to be restricted to opening links to my Google Drive.
