There was an issue where checking canonical versions of UTF-8 paths was being missed here -- fixed for next release.

    Thanks!!

i don't know what 'canonical versions of UTF-8 paths' means but when i make a wikkilink [[20200111]] for example and click on it, a new file by that name with the extension .md is created even though a file by that name already exists with the extension .txt

Your default file extension is set to `.md`.  If you want WikiLinks to search for files with `.txt`, you either need to change the default file extension in the preferences to `.txt`, or you need to include the file extension in your WikiLink (`[[20200111.txt]]`).

ok but what is the logic there? why would the user's intention be to create a new file with the same name?

You asked it to create a WikiLink named `20200111` with no file extension.  The default file extension in your prefs is `.md`.  So nvUltra has no choice but to create a WikiLink named `20200111.md` (if it does not already exist).

Otherwise, how would it disambiguate between `20200111.txt`, `20200111.jpg`, `20200111.markdown`, etc.?

    No worries.

As an aside, this is related to the feature request here -- https://multimarkdown.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360037228573-Extension-less-Autocomplete-for-Wikilinks
