Possible Bug - Emphasis for marker

Over here the cursor started behaving in a completely hectic manner. After typing any single character it would jump somewhere else (e.g. the beginning or the end of the document). Took me a while to find you what was happening, but apparently it was due to changing the Marker for emphasis to "_".

  I think this is the key to some of the strange behavior others have noted.  Long story short, options are maintained as a bitfield, and the option list grew by a couple of settings.  The option for using underscores for emphasis is bit 32, and a special option that I use to control behavior is bit 33 (supposedly using a 64 bit integer, so there should be plenty of space for another 31 options....)

   

  I think that the bitfield logic in Objective-C might be generating a 32 bit temporary variable instead of a 64 bit, and when the emphasis marker is changed, that triggers confusion that causes the behavior to get screwy.

   

  1. For now, leave the emphasis marker as "*"

  2. I'm working on a fix, especially since I anticipate needing some additional options in the future, so having the full 64 bits is important.
