File List - not showing names of folders
Using NVUltra Beta 1.0.0 (36) / macOS 10.14.6
Is it possible to toggle on or off the names of the folders, so that instead of showing:
Computer/AppleScript/Applescript1.md
just the file name:
Applescript1.md

How would one disambiguate between `file.md` and `subfolder/file.md`?

I was hoping that you would have the answer to your question... But I suspect the answer is that nvUltra will not have an option to 'turn off' showing folders.

I'd like to revisit this issue and make an argument for the ability to hide folders and only show filenames.
I use nvUltra and Obsidian as a combo both using the same base folder, the former as for quickly adding/retrieving items, and the latter for more extensive content/organisation.
Obsidian has “solved” this problem with the use of folder disclosure triangles and then showing the filenames beneath each folder. That helps but it still looks messy, as it does with folders in nvUltra at the present. BBEdit shows the filename first, then the folder name, that's a big improvement.
The option to hide folders and just show files would make for a much cleaner and efficient navigation list.
The problem for distinguish between two identical named files is not really a problem but a opportunity to rename your files properly. And if that's not possible (for instance a lot if index.html files) then you would have the option to toggle showing folder names or not. At the end like BBEdit does. ;-)
nvUltra is my probably the program I use most on a regular basis - so I care about it…
