It's not under strict "pain of death" NDA in that even acknowledging nvUltra's existence gets you banished to the phantom zone....

But as long as nvUltra is still in pre-release beta we don't want it reviewed.  It's easy to criticize an app that is still under development for features that are still being refined, and hard to praise features that work now but might still change before the final release.  The point of a beta is to get feedback from people who weren't part of the initial development phase and reconsider choices that need changing as well as to better explain choices that might be unexpected.

There's nothing *wrong* with your post. But it could play out in different ways. What if the only people commenting on it were a few people who had expectations that weren't met when they first tried the beta a month or two ago, and they write about how terrible it was (without seeing whether their complaints have subsequently been addressed)? Readers who are not part of the beta program could then (logically) assume the app is terrible and not worth trying out. Conversely, if only a couple of "die-hard" fans respond, then the discussion could be biased in the other direction. (Yes, Brett and I might be less offended by the second scenario, but neither is ideal for giving realistic expectations to potential users.)

That's why we created these forums. By definition, everyone writing in the forums has tried the beta to some extent. So this is a great place for conversations like this to occur while they can still shape the path of nvUltra's future. Once it is finalized for release, of course anyone can say whatever they want -- here or anywhere else.
