SPLIT and MERGE
There are two related features at the very top of my list with a star and i would KILL to have them included in NVU : MERGE and SPLIT. i am a veteran of numerous notes/writing apps and there are only a very few that include these vital tools for writers...
MERGE is a command to make the selected txt files into one txt file. you can see it working in Notebooks by Alfons Schmid but i would like to see the option Delete Files After Merge available in the options.
SPLIT of course does the opposite. It SPLITS a file into two seperate files at the insertion point. and you rarely see this super useful feature in notes apps, to my knowledge only Ulysses and Scrivener have it.
thanks guys ... love your work!

We'll consider this. I'm not sure it really fits into nvUltra, but we'll see.
Thanks for the suggestion.

Thanks Fletcher.
Drafts has MERGE and a nice implementation for rearranging blocks and lines of text within a document but its too limited. Scrivener has SPLIT but it's not well implemented — and Scrivener is way too complicated and not plain text. So there is a gap in the market for MMD software which doesn't lock your data into a proprietary database.
NVUltra would be IDEAL for writers, especially for writing and researching a novel or non-fiction book especially with its unique approach to connections and autocomplete but I would say the ability to both SPLIT and MERGE files are essential tools for any writer working with say 100,000 words.
Good luck with it!

We can consider, but don't forget -- macOS already offers this. Copy/Paste allows you to move chunks of text as desired between notes or into a new note.

it's a pity i can't explain the difference more adequately but
- open a document A
- click in it
- command A
- open another document B
- select the insertion point
- command V
- delete document A
is not quite the same as : select two documents in the document list and click on MERGE.
the SPLIT function would be even more useful. but maybe only writers can see it. please upvote this feature request!
