Welcome screen - Unlabeled icons and images
CompletedUsing VoiceOver on Mac OS X 10.14.4, I opened beta v.29 from the Applications folder for the first time. Two windows opened: the foreground was a search field an empty table (Navigator) and—only because I went searching—did I find another window behind it. This (unnamed) window needs to be in the foreground for screen-reader users to find it.
In that window (with the colorful background):
- The window needs a title. Right now it's "- blank -"
- Every time I Command+Tab away from the window, the Navigator comes to the foreground and I have to switch back to the other window with VO+F2 twice. This is inconvenient. The welcome window should stay in the foreground.
- The "dots" across the top all read as "index.html"
- The image in the center has no alternative text, so VoiceOver reads the filename.
- Previous and next buttons are read as less-than and greater-than signs
- I also found a "next" button that seemed to do the same thing as the greater-than button. This seems redundant.
- Screenshots do not have alternative text, so VoiceOver reads the filenames.
- On the final screen, I still encounter a "next" button (though it's dimmed) even though it's not on-screen.
-
Great feedback, I'll fix the welcome screen up.

Ok, for the next update I have:
- titled the dots
- added alt tags to every image
- set the final screen "next" button to display:none, which I believe prevents screen readers from including it. I might be wrong there.
- titled the window
I still need to look into keeping the window foreground, and I have to make some decisions about the redundant navigation. That may or may not change.

I'll just note here that on 1.0.33, the navigator keeps popping up everytime I bring up the window, even while on the welcome screen — I kept reading about nvUltra and looking at Zendesk while I started with the app (basically clicked to browser after every welcome slide) and the navigator kept popping up.
