Confirmation before sending note to trash
Is there a setting for getting user confirmation before deleting a note, and I just don't see it?
If not, it would be a welcome addition, especially in the event that I accidentally hit the shortcut for deletion, which for whatever reasons seems to happen sometimes. I definitely get that some might prefer doing away with the extra step. But it's so rare that I actually want to delete a note, that I'd be grateful for the extra check.

There's not currently, because the action is to move to the trash instead of actually deleting the file. In the apps I've used, at least as I remember, the typical pattern is to confirm if deleting, but not to confirm if only moving to the trash. (Confirmation happens when you empty the trash.)
As an aside, you can use the undo command for this action if you trigger it accidentally.

That makes sense. I guess I don't find myself thinking that I'm putting the note in the trash, but rather deleting it altogether — although "trash" is clearly where it says it's going. :)
I suppose I'm also used to the confirmation dialog when deleting in nvALT, so its absence felt surprising to me. But your reasoning makes sense, and mimics the native MacOS behavior.
