[BUG] Adding Spaces to Lists

I have Automatic format next list item selected and am seeing extra spaces injected based on cursor location when I hit enter.

Below shows the output after adding 2 spaces before hitting <return> on Item 1 and then typing Item 2<return>. This is what I would expect.

 

If I put the cursor immediately after the 2 of Item 2 and hit enter, I get the below, which is again what I expect.

 

If I put the cursor immediately before the linebreak on the 2nd bullet, that is after the 2 spaces that were added nvUltra, I get the below:

 

It looks like the app is blindly applying the formatting instead of determining if additional spaces are applied.

Once I have the list as shown in the last screen shot, if I put the cursor after the 2 and hit <return> again, the 2 extra spaces are removed. I'd rather not have do that cleanup.
