Wiki Link referencing note in different folder
CompletedIt would be nice if you could stick a Wiki Link in a note in one folder, which references a note in another folder, and, when one clicks that link, it takes you to the note in the other folder. Now if I do that, NVU creates a new blank note in the same folder whose title is the link text.

This has already been reported and noted as fixed for next release.

This doesn't work for me. Clicking on a wiki link for a document in a different folder does nothing.

If you're going to claim it doesn't work for you, you need to provide more information about exactly what you're doing.

I'm sorry. I'm not a programmer, so if I don't give enough information, it's because I don't always know what information would be helpful. If you help point me in the right direction, I'm happy to give the information you require. I'll make an attempt here to provide information that is more helpful than my last post:
I have a .md file open in nvUltra. This file includes a wiki link that points to a file in a different folder. I am able to click the wiki link, but when I do so, nvUltra does nothing. It doesn't open the file that is being linked to, it doesn't give an error, it doesn't open a blank file with the name of the wiki link I am clicking on (as it does when I click a wiki link for a file I have later re-named).
Re: the folders--I created the wiki link while in my Main folder. The file that includes the wiki link is in Sub Folder 1; the file that is being linked to resides in Sub Folder 2. Clicking the link will open the file that is linked to if I am working from my Main folder, but does nothing if I'm in Sub Folder 1 when I click the link. The previous discussion in this thread implied that the correct behavior would be for nvUltra to open the linked file even though it is in a different folder.

We definitely don't expect anyone to be a programmer. But I do ask that we all (Brett and myself included) try to be respectful of everyone's time and try to save a few back and forth steps when possible. And Williper, to be clear, I am not "picking on" you -- this is common across every project I've worked on.
When submitting a bug report, it is always helpful to be precise. When possible, include the actual files that are not working for you. If that is not possible, submit the minimal example required to reproduce the issue (actual files are better, but sometimes you can get away with pasting the actual text you use.) You should be able to recreate the problem using only the information submitted in the bug report, which makes it more likely that we can recreate it.
Your second post is much more informative than the first -- thank you. The additional information that is needed for us to try and replicate your results is the actual text you used -- what did you use as your WikiLinks (e.g. `Click on [[foo.txt]]`), what are the paths and filenames to the files in question, etc. For example, if you are using the wrong text as the WikiLink, then nothing will work properly.
Also, define exactly what you mean when you say, it "does nothing if I'm in Sub Folder 1 when I click the link". Do you mean that the wiki link doesn't work when you try to link to a file that is not part of the window that you are working in? If you open the folder "Main/Sub1", that means that nothing outside of "Sub1" exists, as far as nvUltra is concerned. To access a file in "Main/Sub2" from a document in "Main/Sub1", you have to open "Main". If I properly understood what you meant, then you don't need to submit any further information -- open the proper folder and all is well.
Again -- thank you for your work with nvUltra, and hopefully this will help save you from having to answer as many follow up questions if you submit an issue. The best bug reports are the ones that go something like, "Hey -- it doesn't work when I do ........" -- "Huh, you're right. That was an edge case that occurred because of .... It is now fixed for the next release." :)
