new file creation and blank file list
CompletedThis might be an intended feature, but when I create a new file (unique enough to have no existing file suggestions) my file list remains empty of all other existing files after I enter the editor window to begin the new file.
I would prefer to have my listing of existing files reappear to facilitate dragging and dropping for file transclusion into the new note. The only method I have found to bring back my file list is to either ⌘L and begin a file search which exits my new file, or to ⌘L and delete the new file note from the search bar and then reenter the note.
Am I missing the intent of the current functionality or a better method of retrieving my file list after new file creation?

It's filtering based on the items that match what is currently in the search bar. In this case, that is the file name of your new file, which apparently does not match any other files in your folder, either in terms of file name or file contents.
It's the same as if you typed that file name as a search query.
It sometimes takes a little bit to get used to how nvUltra (and nvALT) work in this regard, but once you do it's quite powerful.

Funny I never noticed that before in NvAlt after using it for several years until you pointed it out and I just tested it. I guess it jumped out to me in NvUltra because of the new drag/drop feature for file linking (which is a really nice addition).
I guess I don't see the downside of the having the file list reappear once I've entered the editing window. But, as you said, I will get used to it rather quickly once I stop feature testing and muscle memory from NvAlt takes over again.
Thanks for the reply - on a Sunday evening too!

Glad that helped, and enjoy taking it for a spin!

I would prefer to see the file list rather than filtering the files based on the name. I find the filtering step confusing once the file name is set and you're typing in it.
It's a different behavior than if you click on the file and the name is in the search bar.
I never used nvALT, so I'm coming from this as a user of Multimarkdown Composer.0
