Problem with updates to notes not appearing in Marked

I have been creating and editing notes and sending them to Marked for printing using the Preview in Marked option.

1. I went back and made a few edits expecting the changes to be reflected in the open Marked view. The changes didn’t appear.
2. Quit and reopened Marked — the edits still did not appear.
3. Tried using the refresh option in Marked and that didn’t help.
4. I quit nvUltra and reopened it, and now the edits are working normally.

Question: Was this just a momentary glitch or is there a bug that needs to be addressed?

  Was the file still "open" in nvUltra (e.g. focus in on editor pane)?  It doesn't save the file with every keystroke while you're editing (that generates a lot of "noise" for the OS and disk).  Instead it saves the file at the same frequency that undo coalescing occurs (Advanced Preferences), as well as when you're finished editing that file and move the focus out of the editor.  To force a save, simply move the focus to the search bar (Cmd-L).

  You can also disable Undo Coalescing as well.

  In double-checking code, it also forces a save when the app loses focus (or when an individual window is no longer the active window).  

   

  (Assuming you're editing a file, of course).

   

  If you have MultiMarkdown Composer, you can test further with the "Edit in MMDC" context menu in the file list, or the menu bar.  Composer monitors the file (assuming that function is enabled in the Files preferences), and can show you the changes as nvUltra updates the file.

   

  If that is not working for you, if you could send a screen capture video, I might be able to better identify the issue.

  Yes. The editing focus was in the editor panel. I'll try disabling Undo Coalescing and see if that works for me. I'll also test the change focus to the search bar to force a save. I suspect that this will solve the issue for me. If not I'll send you a video.

  I have MMDC -- it has been my go-to markdown editor for a long time!
