Are you sure about that?  Both apps use the default system cursors (arrow, I-beam) and don't (intentionally) make any changes to the size.  I've never noticed a difference between in-application and system cursor sizes.

If you think they are different on your computer, can you take screenshots so I can see what you are referring to?  Make sure to use the same color schemes, as different colors can make the size of the I-beam cursor appear to be different.

Also, if comparing between computers (or user accounts), be sure that the cursor size settings in System Preferences (Accessibility) are the same.  Which, btw, you can use to adjust the cursor size across all applications if desired.

Sorry. I used the wrong label. I meant caret and wrote cursor.

I tried to compare with the same theme and they both appear the same thickness.

    thanks for the reply.

Ah.  Well, same thing applies to the caret.  The width should be the same in both cases, though I am not sure that can be adjusted in the System preferences like the cursor can.

There *is* a difference in the height and vertical positioning of the caret between Composer and nvUltra due to some improvements in the way line heights are handled in nvUltra.  These changes will be included in Composer after additional testing.

But the width is not (intentionally) different between the two.  If you find a difference in the future, send some screenshots and we'll try to figure it out.

    Thanks!!

Since one can already change the caret color with a caretColor entry in the theme file, would this perhaps also be possible for the caret width?

As above, macOS does not offer a setting to change the thickness of the caret/cursor on an application level.

You can use the Accessibility->Display System Settings to change the global cursor size.
