    If you open a support ticket and attach the file, I can take a look.  The encoding is specified in the file, not by nvUltra.

    Your file is encoded as Western (Mac OS Roman) – this was an encoding format from the 1980's and should probably be avoided these days.  Should be encoded as UTF-8, or another encoding such as UTF-16 that embeds a BOM at the beginning of the file.

    Ok, thanks.

    The file was probably originally created in the ‘80s on a Mac SE, no doubt that’s why it's set to be that encoding.

    To fix this, duplicate the file in TextEdit, when you Save there is an option to set the Encoding.

    Oddly enough, BBEdit doesn't allow this in its Free License version.
