Not writing to file on Big Sur

I've just downloaded the newest beta (2023.04.11.12.47) on my two machines. 

The M1 machine running Monterey 12.6.3 is business as usual.  The Intel machine running Big Sur 11.7.6 has an issue in which no files are being updated.

I can type in the file as long as I want and everything seems normal, but when I switch to another file all the changes are lost.

  Update: I found that the bug only applied to a single folder (I use one monolithic folder, so it didn't immediately occur to me to check others).

  I dug around and found the option in Preferences to clear the cached indexes, and that cleared the issue up.

  For what it's worth, this happened again and clearing the index cache solved it again. 

  I haven't been able to determine what might be causing it.
