Keyboard gets Stuck when Open Preferences, etc.

I just noticed that when I open the nvUltra's Preferences window or, say, the Syntax Guide, or About nvUltra, the keyboard gets stuck (i.e., I cannot write anything in the Editor) if I try typing (by clicking on the page or pressing cmd + `) without having closed the Preferences/Guide windows, which remain open in the background. Now, it seems a bit unpredictable: that is, if I keep switching between the two windows for a while or close the Preferences window and reopen it, it might work. (I don't know if it's a recent behavior, or whether it is by design, or just limited to my system.)

  I can also reproduce this.  

  To clarify, If I open the Preferences (Settings) page, I can type into that page for example in the Smart Pairs texts box.

  But if I leave that window open and click in the main nvUltra window, I cannot type into that window.

  If I then close the Preferences window, then I can type in the main window with no probelm.
